Fitting the rubber gasket

Having visited Hills Rubber in the week, they guillotine some 5mm neoprene sheet into 14 metres of 12mm wide strips.

It is absolutely lashing down with rain without a break so no chance of doing any roofing today so get the neoprene packed behind the glass, this is a slow job pushing it into place using a plastic spatula and the wedge end of wooden clothes pegs, using washing up liquid as a lubricant to get it in place.  This job actually takes all day but looks really neat once it is done.

The temporary roof proves robust against the elements so Allison insists that we eat breakfast in the conservatory improvising work surfaces as temporary dining table and chairs.
